E-7-4 visa change expansion

Recently, the Korean government has significantly expanded the issuance quota of E-7-4 visas to enhance the integration and management of foreign workers.

The news about this expansion plan was announced on September 25, 2023. On this day, the Korean government officially announced the policy to significantly expand the issuance quota of E-7-4 visas.

This measure was promoted as part of efforts to address the shortage of professional workers in Korea and to aid the integration of foreign workers.

This visa is issued to highly skilled foreign experts, and with this measure, the issuance quota has been significantly increased from the previous 2,000 to 35,000.

These changes aim to transition Korea into a multicultural society and address the labor shortage issue.

The E-7-4 visa offers foreign workers the opportunity to apply for long-term residency or permanent residency if they meet certain requirements.

For example, this applies if the foreign worker has had an annual average income of over 25 million won for the past two years and has achieved level 2 or higher on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).

Additionally, E-7-4 visa holders are granted the right to invite their families under certain conditions.

This policy aims to address the shortage of professional workers in Korea and help foreign workers integrate better into Korean society.

It plays an important role in Korea's transition to a multicultural society and provides more opportunities for foreign workers.
